Longest Day Up ‘21
Angus Browne, one of our expert Kolina engineers recently took part in the Longest Day Up Motorcycle Challenge. Cancer Research UK’s challenge took place on the longest day of the year, 20 June, when Bikers left Lands End at sunrise and aimed to reach John O’Groats by sunset following a designated route. It may sound easier said than done, but when the motorcycles could cost no more than £300 (not inc. insurance, MOT, tyres or brakes) and had to have a valid MOT, it certainly raised the bar!
Angus took part in the challenge in memory of his Mum, who died of breast cancer in 2019. His work ethic shone through throughout the day, he’s known at Kolina for always giving his best whatever circumstances throw at him. Not only did he do a remarkable job completing the 1,045mile journey, he reached his destination in 23 hours and 30 minutes and has so far raised a fantastic total of £5,141.94 for Cancer Research UK. Well done Angus for such an outstanding performance, we’re all very proud of you!
