Joanna, our Operations Administrator, has recently attended the online Supporting Women in Water conference. There was great contribution from a wide cross-section of careers paths. As a woman working in the water industry, Joanna was able to ask other delegates what draws women to this exciting field and how do we impact the industry? She received a variety of responses. Many participants enjoy the challenges brought by working within such an important industry. They benefit from positive cultures within their organisations and many look forward to changing gender stereotypes and inspiring the next generation of Engineers, Scientists, Managers and anyone who wants to pursue a chosen career.
With over 150 taking part in the virtual event, many felt that it was an inspiring conference with fantastic key speakers and enthusiastic participants. Contributors came away from the conference feeling positive about their work within the industry and excited for developments to come. Thank you to the team at the Institute of Water for an excellent 2 days.
